Over the past few months we have been working on bringing new life into this Land Rover Defender 110 Tipper. This workhorse now has a modern front end, an interior where the limited space is utilised for storage and a highly durable load area, not to mention high powered lights for both front and rear vehicle lighting, on board air compressor, winch and much more. This Land Rover Defender 110 was at a crossroads in its life, work it into the ground or breathe new life into it. Trek Overland have made this workhorse not only into a durable hard worker but a stylish modern looking Defender for every day driving.

Installed a Goodwinch TDS9.5C Winch with grey 11mm Dyneema Rope with both a plug in remote and Bluetooth wireless remote with an additional socket for the plug in remote.
A modular winch bumper with LED integrated spot lights, shot blasted, Galvafroid and then Raptored Protected with an aluminium hawes installed at the front.
In the drivers side wing top a Nakatanenga Wing Top Fender Box has been installed. Within the lockable, waterproof storage box, both a Winch Remote Input and an ARB Air Line output are located.
Underbody protection has been installed in the form of an aluminium steering guard, which has again been Raptor Protected.
A modern alternative to chequer plate has been installed at the front of the vehicle in the form of Equipe 4x4 Bilayer Wing Tops. To compliment the vehicles new modern front a Zunsport Stainless Black Grill has also been installed for a clean looking front with colour matched painted bars behind to offer a contrast.
The headlights have been upgraded from the standard Land Rover Defender ones with Stainless Steel Headlight Mount Surrounds, complimenting the lights with custom manufactured light surrounds and the Series Style Black Surrounds. New LED lights have also been installed around the vehicle.
To help ensure the vehicle is capable wading, a Safari Snorkel has been installed with all relevant pipes being sealed to ensure no leaking. The Snorkel has also been Raptor Protected to match the look of the vehicle.
The sides of the vehicle have been upgraded with modified rock sliders, shortened to fit the Tipper and installed with a heavy duty step at either side. Along with the Wheel Arches, the Side Steps have been Raptored again to be in keeping with the durable, tough look of the Defender.
Underneath the Hydraulic Tipper a number of custom built Mobile Storage Systems aluminium storage lockers / boxes have been manufactured to the shape of the space available, utilising as many voids as possible to create lockable storage. Within one of the storage boxes, the ARB CKMTA12 Compressor is housed finished off with a 3m braided air hose linked to the Fender box previously mentioned. In the other box were some Trek Overland, extra long custom jump leads which can be plugged into an Anderson connector located for easy access under the Tipper.
Carrying on with the exterior of the vehicle, the Tipper framework has been extended above the cab and removable extensions have been manufactured so that when the vehicle is not in workhorse mode the vehicles height is as low as possible. The additional framework also acts as housing for 3 highly powerful LTPRTZ LED Light Bars, one front facing 40 inch bar and two rear facing 13 inch bars. Another two smaller LTPRTZ LED Lights are located on the rear of the vehicle.
The Tipper its self, was fully shot blast and treated before being Raptor Protected with the Addition of Raptor Traction added to the load bed. The rear crossmember and mud flap brackets also had the Raptor Protection treatment. A new spare wheel mount was also manufactured and then installed for easy access in the case its needed.
The vehicle had a full suspension upgrade to Old Man Emu branded shocks, springs and damper, rated to a constant 300, along with upgraded galvanised mounts.
Underneath the vehicle has had our full, steam clean and Dinitrol Treatment, to help protect the vehicle from rust the best we can including the inside of both doors to help prevent them from rotting too.

The interior of the vehicle also saw many upgrades. The batteries were upgraded to twin Calcium Technology Batteries with a custom built twin battery tray to ensure that the batteries are secure even when offroading.
A split charge system has also been installed and mounted using a goose mount on the passengers side dashboard hidden beneath the grab handle.
A Mobile Storage Systems Puma Glove Box has made use of the void behind the dash for additional storage, along with a new Mobile Storage Systems Cubby Box with the Union Jack Tapestry deep padded armrest.
Above the sun visors the MUD Roof Console has been installed with the integrated new MUD LED interior light as well creating even more storage in the tightly spaced cab. Beneath the centre dash console another MUD product was installed, the Puma Heat Deflector, helping aid the direction of the warm air.
The interior was complimented with brand new heavy duty matting throughout as well seat box protectors and stainless door threshes.
New seals were placed on both doors and a stainless steel bolt kit replaced all non load bearing bolts throughout the vehicle.
All electrical work for the new winch, lights, air compressor etc was wired in to the dash for a factory fit look.
Repair work to the damaged door and broken steering box were carried out as well before finishing touches took place. Small Union Jack badges were placed on the sides of the vehicle, extended mirror arms and "unbreakable" mirror heads were installed for increased rear vision and upgraded Bosch windscreen wipers ensured better wet weather driving. New seat covers and wheel covers were also put on.

A good wash down and a thorough clean and polish and this new modern workhorse was ready for anything the working day could throw at it.
